Bandits ‘release Kagara boys’

The students of Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State kidnapped by bandits have been freed, reports say.

Bandits, donning a military uniform, had around 2 am on Wednesday invaded the school and whisked away 27 pupils and 15 staff members, killing an SSS3 pupil who tried to escape.

The incident created nationwide agitation over school safety and national security under a President Muhammadu Buhari that was a general in the army.

Reports say the Kagara boys have now been released and would be presented to the public by the authorities.

Peoples Gazette reported that the government paid the bandits N800 million after which the boys were then released.
