NFF: Media officer quits Future Eagles after EndSARS protest

Samuel Adepoju has resigned his appointment as a media officer of Nigeria’s Under-15 side, the Future Eagles.

After Adepoju announced his resignation on Monday, his friends suspected he was forced out by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over his participation in the EndSARS protest.

But Samuel said that was not the case.

“I have received messages linking my resignation to my active involvement in the EndSARS protest,” Adepoju said in a social media post on Tuesday.

“I earned my right to protest and the NFF didn’t have issues with my fundamental right.

“When I was arrested by the police, NFF media officer AY Suga tweeted about it.

“NFF 1st Vice President as well as NFF 2nd Vice President LMC Chairman Shehu Dikko reached out to me and encouraged me on my fundamental right.

“I’m still a friend of this federation and I will continue to give my 100 per cent support to the growth of football,” he said.
