BREAKING: Shomolu youth set tires ablaze, block road in Lagos
A group of young men have barricaded Bariga Road in Shomolu area of Lagos.
Bajulaiye Road also links to the spot at Adesina Bus Stop where the young men set tires on fire moments ago.
“This is an EndSARS protest,” they said when asked about why they blocked the road.
The blockade was set up around 9:30 am on Monday forcing motorists to take alternative routes.
Some elders in the area complained that burning tires on a newly-renovated road could damage the public facility.
“You can see that the fire is near an electricity transformer,” a witness told The Realm News.
Young Nigerians have been protesting since October 3. They are urging the government to arrest police brutality and implement comprehensive law enforcement reform.
