Traffic grips Lagos as another fuel tanker explodes on Otedola bridge
An inferno on the popular Otedola bridge in Lagos has led to a heavy gridlock on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and other parts of the state.
An accident involving two tankers, a trailer and two cars led to the fire outbreak, Daily Trust reported on Saturday.
Emergency responders comprising the Lagos Fire Service, the state Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the state Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), among others are on ground put out the fire and clear the expressway for vehicular movement.
The accident is affecting traffic backwards Motorway-7up to Alapere presently, LASTMA tweeted.
Motorists have been advised to use CMD Rd, 7up area to link Oworoshonki and Gbagada respectively.
There were no immediate report of casualties. This is not the first time Otedola bridge would witness a tanker explosion.
