Angry youth have reportedly barricaded the main Kofa Mata Road in Kano following an alleged case of extra-judicial killing.
They reportedly became irate after learning that one Saifullah, a 17-year-old, died in police custody on Monday morning.
Reports say the police had arrested the teenager and tortured him to death while interrogating him.
Angry youth then took to the streets, blocked the road and set tires ablaze.
The teenager’s alleged fatal torture coincides with ongoing nationwide demonstrations against police brutality in Nigeria.
Demonstrators marching under the banner of EndSARS are calling for comprehensive police reform.
