CBN: Despite judge’s order, EFCC fails to produce Emefiele in court
In a suspected act of defiance, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), disregarded a directive from the Federal Capital Territory High Court on Monday, failing to present Godwin Emefiele, the erstwhile Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, before the court.
The court had previously issued an order last Thursday, mandating the EFCC to either release Emefiele or ensure his presence in court for the hearing of his bail motion.
However, during Monday’s court proceedings, Emefiele was conspicuously absent, marking a significant turn of events in this ongoing legal saga.
