A 19-year-old is among a gang of five alleged armed robbers the police just arrested in Bauchi State.
The gang allegedly broke into Banana Island Lodge, Gwallameji at the weekend, entered one of the rooms and attacked a 23-year-old woman leaving her with injuries.
They “macheted her with cutlass”, state police spokesperson Ahmed Mohammad Wakil said in a statement on Tuesday. The alleged attack was carried out in the early hours of Saturday.
The woman is still receiving treatment at the ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi where she was taken after her alleged attackers went away with a box containing her clothes, a laptop, a mobile phone, mattresses, gas cylinder and a purse containing N700.
