Ahmad Isah: Police arrest Brekete’s ‘Ordinary President’ for ‘assaulting abusive woman’
Police officials of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have arrested Brekete Family Show host Ahmad Isah.
Isah, who is the CEO of Human Rights Radio 101.1FM Abuja, was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman.
‘Ordinary President,’ as he is popularly referred to, was captured hitting an interviewee in a BBC Africa Eye documentary.
The woman had confessed to pouring kerosene on her brother’s daughter whom she accused of witchcraft. She also confessed to setting the child on fire.
Isah, in the video released by the BBC, lashed out at the woman and slapped her. Amid the backlash that greeted his action, Isah had apologised.
But the humanitarian show host was arrested on Tuesday.
Isah’s arrest was disclosed on Brekete official Twitter handle.
“Ordinary President, Founder and CEO of Brekete Radio and TV program honoured an invitation to the FCT Police Command this morning.
“We want the public to know that we are yet to see or reach him.
“Thank you for sharing and retweeting,” the tweet read.
Daily Post reported that the show host was later released.
