MAPOLY ‘pulls out of ASUP strike’
Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, has reportedly pulled out of the ongoing nationwide strike by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP).
MAPOLY reached the decision at a Congress meeting on Thursday, an unconfirmed report said.
The school management is said to have instructed students to await further instructions regarding the resumption of academic activities.
There are indications the school could fully reopen next week.
MAPOLY’s reported break from ASUP came barely 24 hours after the school’s ASUP chairman was said to have lamented over the non-appointment of a substantive rector for the institution.
