RCCG sanctions Leke Adeboye for calling pastors ‘goats,’ GO’s son tenders public apology
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has sanctioned Leke Adeboye over his derogatory remarks toward some of the church’s pastors.
Leke, who is the son of and personal assistant to RCCG general overseer, Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye, had called some of the church’s ministers “goats” because they preached at their local assemblies after his father’s Sunday sermon.
Leke Adeboye, whose comments attracted widespread criticisms, has now apologised over the matter. He also revealed that the church has taken disciplinary action against him.
He said he would use his disciplinary period to reflect and be a better person.
“I wish to use this medium to tender my unreserved apologies on the statement made from my social
media handle about some of our esteemed pastors,” Leke Adeboye wrote in a social media post on Thursday afternoon.
“The disciplinary measures taken by the mission is well received and this period will be used to reflect and introspect.
“I wish to crave your indulgence to please forgive my extreme statement which I wish to emphasise was absolutely not intended to insult or malign.
“I also wish to apologise profusely to the entire leadership and pastors of our beloved church who might have been hurt by this statement.
“I remain humbly yours in God’s love and mercies.
“Yours in His service,
“Leke Adeboye.”
