PHOTOS: Soludo visits Anambra LG secretariat that was set ablaze by unknown gunmen, vows to deal with culprits
Anambra State Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has visited Nnewi South local government area Headquarters, Ukpor, to access the scene following an attack by suspected gunmen.
The suspected gunmen, who were yet to be identified as of the time of filing this report, set the secretariat ablaze on Wednesday night.
A security guard lost his life in the attack, reports said.
Soludo, on Thursday, inspected the affected buildings which included the works department, education building, traditional council office, public complainant commission office and property department office.
The governor in his speech described the incident as a very sad moment and emphasised that the security agencies will get to the bottom of the situation.
Soludo said he regretted that the common man will be at the receiving end as the money that should be used to provide the basic infrastructures should now be used for rebuilding.
He encouraged Ndi Anambra to be strong as no amount of arson and bloodletting will prevail over the spirit of Ndi Anambra.
Maintaining that Anambra respects the sanctity of life and property, the governor maintained that no circumstance should result in such lawlessness and bloodletting.
Governor Soludo reiterated his resolve to restore law and order in Anambra for the sake of the people.
