IGP meets police commanders over Christmas, New Year security
The Nigeria Police is putting everything in place to ensure a safe festive season, inspector-general (IGP) Mohammed Adamu has assured.
On Monday, Mohammed met with police commanders at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, to strategize on security ahead of the Yuletide.
Before the meeting, the police had announced a revamping of Nigeria’s security architecture ahead of Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Last Friday, the IGP strategic police officers and ordered them “review the general security situation in the country particularly in the aftermath of the ENDSARS protest and deliberate on challenges impinging on effective policing and internal security management concerns in the country,” police spokesperson Frank Mba said in. statement.
“He commended the officers for the leadership they provided at the field level during the ENDSARS crisis and for their roles in guaranteeing a stable security order across the country.
“The IGP assures the citizens of the renewed commitment of the Force towards ensuring their safety and security especially as the Christmas season approaches.
“He calls for their continuous understanding, support and encouragement to the police.”
