Abia: 4 arrested for ‘killing POS agents in Aba’
Police have arrested a gang of four suspects whose “criminal activities” have been linked to deadly attacks on POS agents in Abia State.
The suspects, sources say, were involved in the recent killing of two persons, Victor Chimaobi Igbokwe and Ezinne Grace Iroh, both POS agents, in Aba.
One of the suspects was a neighbour of Iroh who had also been robbed by the same gang in 2020, AFNews reported Tuesday.
The gang is led by one Ralph Godwin from Kogi State, it was alleged. The other suspects are Chibuike Samuel from Mbaise in Imo State, Godswill Kalu from Ohafia in Abia State and Uzoma Samuel from Obingwa in Abia State.
They were apprehended after they inserted Igbokwe’s SIM card into another phone in an apparent bid to make transfers from his account, a source said.
The action enabled the police to track the SIM card and nab the suspects, it was gathered.
The suspect will soon be moved to Abuja for further investigation, AFNews reported.
