2023: President can come from South East but not from Igbos — Buba Galadima
Ahead of the 2023 general election, President Muhammadu Buhari’s former political ally Buba Galadima says he is open to voting for anyone from the southeastern part of Nigeria as President.
But Galadima added that the person must not be Igbo who are the major ethnic group in the region.
Galadima made the comment while appearing on Arise TV’s “The Morning Show” on Monday.
“I have a lot of friends from the South East, I can vote for any of them if they present themselves but I am not agreeing to ‘Igbo presidency’,” Galadima said.
Recall that Galadima said he was the one who brought Buhari into politics.
Both men fell out in the run-up to the 2019 election after what Galadima described Buhari’s disastrous first term.
