We’ll not tolerate your criminality further – Buhari warns terrorists, bandits
Others declared missing must be found and returned safely to their families.
President Muhammadu Buhari has warned terrorists and bandits targeting schools to desist as his government will no longer tolerate the destruction of the school system.
The president’s spokesperson, Alhaji Garba Shehu, made this known in a series of tweets, Saturday, on his official Twitter page.
He said the president applauded the efforts of the Kaduna State government and the military for responding early in the rescue of the 180 students and eight staff members.
“President Buhari insisted that the others declared missing must be found and returned safely to their families,” Shehu said.
He said the president also commended efforts and contributions of local intelligence “in significantly thwarting the kidnappers.”
“A country which has an efficient local intelligence network is a safer country,” Shehu quoted the president to have said.
He added, “our military may be efficient and well-armed but it needs good efforts for the nation’s defence and the local population must rise to this challenge of the moment.”
He said the president expressed sympathy with the victims of this incident and hoped for an early end to the ordeal of those still held captive.
