We’ll end Boko Haram soon – COAS
He praised the troops for their resilience
The newly appointed Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, has praised the army for their effort and tenacity in the fight against terrorism saying that Boko Haram will be defeated.
Attahiru made this declaration on Sunday in Damaturu, Yobe State during his official visit to the troops of Sector 2 Operation Lafiya Dole of the Nigerian Army.
“I am very pleased, your commanders have told me what you have done collectively as part of Operation Tura Takai Bango, and how you pushed the Boko Haram insurgents,” the COAS said while addressing the troops.
He also added, “we are proud of you and I believe in the second phase of that operation, you will do more.”
The army chief said the purpose of his visit to the sector headquarters was to meet the soldiers, know and get acquainted with them.
“I will like to tell you that I personally, as the Chief of Army Staff, am here to take cognisance and note of the challenges you have and ensure that they are addressed to ensure you have the highest level of morale to be able to do your job and do it proudly as Nigerian soldiers,” he said.
“We promise to end this issue of Boko Haram,” he assured.
