Tinubu is a drug addict who must never be president — Nigerian professor
Government critic, academic, media scholar, public speaker and newspaper columnist Farooq Kperogi has unloaded on Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Tinubu, a prominent chieftain and financier of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is reportedly eyeing the presidency come 2023. But Kperogi has warned Nigerians to never allow such happen.
“Tinubu is expending every imaginable financial, political, social, and symbolic resource at his disposal to become president,” the US-based Nigerian lecturer, who was once a speechwriter for former President Olusegun Obasanjo, wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
“But after eight years of (Muhammadu) Buhari’s absent, dementia-plagued presidency, the last thing Nigeria would need is even a single day of a drugged and drunken presidency.
“Tinubu, as most people know, is an unremittingly drugged and drunk man who is incapable of a basic presence of mind or a coherent thought-process for a sustained period.
“He obviously has excellent speech writers and artful PR professionals around him, but he’s a narcotic and alcoholic disaster.
“If Nigeria is to have a chance at survival, it shouldn’t make the mistake of replacing a dementia-ravaged Buhari with a drunk and drugged Tinubu.
“At the minimum, we need a sober, self-aware, cosmopolitan person who is likely to be sensitive to public opinion,” Kperogi said without providing proof to back his claims about the former Lagos governor.
