Sanwo-Olu may declare another lockdown, health commissioner warns Lagos residents
The Lagos State Government has once again stressed the need for residents to strictly adhere to precautionary measures against the transmission of the coronavirus.
The Babajide Sanwo-Olu government said precautions would help to prevent another lockdown of the economy.
The government added that a resurgence of cases in Lagos may stall measures put in place by the government to open up the economy.
Health commissioner Akin Abayomi, who disclosed this while speaking on efforts being made by the present administration to sustain the gains that have been made to control the pandemic, explained that many countries and cities are experiencing a second and third wave of the coronavirus.
Abayomi warned that the continuous flagrant disregard of safety guidelines by citizens herald danger and may lead to the second wave of new infections in Lagos
He said that COVID-19 testing for other purposes, such as travelling or as a requirement for professional reasons, which are not part of the public health response, can be done at any of the 10 Government accredited private laboratories or by booking a test online at covid19.lagosstatebiobank.com or the National portal specific for travelers on nitp.ncdc.gov.ng.
