Police bow to pressure, release activist Tunde Abass after days of torture
Rights activist Tunde Abass has been released by the police.
Abass was released on Tuesday, a day after a judge granted him bail.
Police arrested the activist on Saturday after he filmed officers apparently brutalising a Nigerian citizen in Onipanu area of Lagos state.
Abass was released on Tuesday with body marks showing that he was tortured in police custody.
The police had reportedly refused to release the rights activist on Monday but caved in a day later follow public pressure.
