Panic as number of COVID-19 cases reaches alarming rate
Interestingly, there were no new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours but the toll remains at 1,125 as of Friday
Nigeria, on Sunday, recorded another 152 new cases of coronavirus to bring the number of confirmed positive cases to 65,184 amid anxiety over a second wave of the pandemic.
This is according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) latest update.
Interestingly, there were no new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours but the toll remains at 1,125 as of Friday.
After weeks of a low number of infected persons, there has been an upsurge in the last one month. However, the number of recoveries is encouraging.
NCDC data shows that a total number of about 61, 073 persons were discharged from hospitals, after treatment out of over 65,000 confirmed cases.
Of the 152 new reported cases, Lagos has 136, Kano, four, Niger, three, Ekiti, Kaduna, Ogun, and Taraba States have two each while the FCT recorded one.
