‘Over 60 persons killed in Abuja-Kaduna train attack,’ Tinubu says as he cancels birthday colloquium to ‘honour victims’
The 13th Bola Ahmed Tinubu Colloquium has been cancelled, multiple sources have told The Realm News.
The event was supposed to hold to mark the 70th birthday of Tinubu, a top chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
But it has been called off in honour of the victims of Monday’s terror attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train.
Tinubu called off the party at Eko Hotels in Lagos, the venue of the event, multiple sources told The Realm News.
The 2023 presidential hopeful is also reported to have said that the “national tragedy” claimed over 60 lives. The government was yet to confirm any death toll as of the time of filing this report.
Tinubu already exited the venue, we can report.
The Tinubu colloquium was tagged ‘Pivoting Nigeria Into The New Order’, and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was scheduled to be in attendance. Osinbajo visited victims of the attack on his way to the now-cancelled colloquium, social media videos showed.
