Omotola’s fans tell her to ‘confess’ over alleged affair with Oshiomhole
Nollywood star Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde had a romantic affair with former Edo governor Adams Oshiomhole, an online blog has alleged.
But Omotola, a Nigerian movie icon who is married to Captain Matthew Ekeinde, has told the bloggers to produce proof of her alleged marital infidelity or face legal repercussions.
Gistloverblog, the gossip platform at the centre of the allegations against Omotola, insisted that the mother of four had an affair with the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who is also married.
Omotola then asked her fans to report the platform’s Instagram account for spreading fake news. But her followers initially told the movie icon they wanted to know the details of the “gist”.
Instagram users also accused Omotola of taking sides with the government when Nigerian youths staged widespread protests against police brutality. Many of them said they would, therefore, not rise to her defence over the alleged sex scandal.
The blogger’s Instagram account, however, seemed to have been suspended on Tuesday over the controversy.
“I ordinarily don’t do this but after thinking about it thoroughly and seeking advice I have decided to,” Omotola had said.
“So this blog ran this story and people started coming to my page.
“I’ve always known there are people who are sick and will tell you stories that have never happened but to publish that on a platform as big as Instagram? You must be held accountable.
“Still waiting for the so-called blog to post the proof of their dirty insinuation. You don’t just wake up and randomly write nonsense!
“You will prove your story and be found,” Omotola said.
