Nigeria in darkness as national power grid collapses again
The national power grid has suffered another system collapse, resulting in worsening the blackout in parts of the country.
The latest collapse occurred around 11.00 am on Wednesday, two electricity distribution companies confirmed in separate messages to customers.
A message by Kaduna Electric on Twitter said:
“We regret to inform you that the power outage currently being experienced across our franchise – Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states – is as a result of the collapse of the national grid.”
Similarly, Eko Electricity Distribution Company Plc, in a message to its customers, said:
“Dear customer, there is a partial system collapse on the national grid. Our TCN partners are working to restore supply immediately. Please bear with us.”
Customers serviced by Ikeja Electric are also experiencing a blackout.
The current power no-show threatens to ruin the ongoing Sallah holiday.
