Kidnapped APC Chairman found dead, family says
The kidnapped chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Philip Shekwo, is dead.
Gunmen invaded Shekwo’s residence in Lafia on Saturday night and took him away prompting a police rescue mission. The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Dele Longe, confirmed his kidnap earlier on Sunday.
The authorities have now reportedly found the APC chieftain dead, a family source said on Sunday afternoon,
A leader of the APC in Nasarawa, who asked not to be named, also confirmed the death, Premium Times reported.
The chairman of Karu local government, Samuel Akala, also confirmed the death on his Facebook page.
