Jangebe Girls: Bandits kidnap 300 female students in Zamfara
At least 300 students have been abducted by armed bandits who invaded a girls’ school in Zamfara reports say.
The mass abduction, which occured at Government Girls’ Secondary School in Jangebe, was carried out overnight, parents told BBC News on Friday.
The kidnapping occured despite Zamfara government’s peace deal with bandits whom they want to grant “blanket amnesty”.
The abduction came barely a few weeks after hundreds of schoolboys were abducted in Katsina by bandits. The boys were later released but the Nigerian military took no action against their abductors.
Nine days ago, bandits invaded a high school in Kagara, Niger State, and seized about 29 students and school administrators.
