Iskilu Wakili: ‘Fulani warlord’ charged with murder in Oyo
Suspected ‘Fulani’ warlord Iskilu Wakili must be remanded in a correctional facility, an Iyaganku Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, has ordered.
The police had charged Wakili, 70, alongside his sons Abu, 45, and Samaila, 27, as well as Aliyu Manu, 20, with six counts bordering on conspiracy, murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.
They are to be remanded in Abolongo Correctional facility in Oyo State, a court has now ordered.
The Chief Magistrate, Emmanuel Idowu, who did not take plea of the suspects for want of jurisdiction, adjourned the matter till May 17 for mention.
Idowu ordered the police to return the case file to the Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecution.
Recall that Wakili was arrested by members of thr Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and local vigilantes over alleged kidnapping and killings in the South-West.
Wakili, following his arrest, denied any wrongdoing and said he was also a victim of kidnapping.
