Horror as water tank crashes on car
A loaded water tank that came crashing from 60 feet above has damaged a Toyota Camry Saloon car, sending shattered pieces of windscreen flying into the surrounding.
There was no loss of life but the ear-shattering sound left residents scampering for safety.
The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday in Agbama Housing Estate, Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
“We had already gone to bed when a scary bang woke us up. At first, we thought we were under robbery attack, so, we, ran for cover,” a resident told our reporter.
Another resident said the water tank was installed on a structure in a neighbouring building.
“It fell off from its stand while our neighbours were pumping water and crashed into our compound,” she said.
She added, “I guess the pressure forced it off. We are thankful to God that it happened at the wee hour of the day. It would have been a different story.”
The owner of the damaged car was not available to speak to our reporter.
We, however, learned that the landlord of the building where the water tank fell from is yet to come to assess the damage despite several calls put across to him.
