Female pastor lays hand on, prays for Apostle Joshua Selman
Popular preacher Apostle Joshua Selman is receiving praises in the Christian community for being “humble”.
The accolades followed Selman’s visit to Family Worship Centre (FWC) in Abuja on Sunday.
During the visit, Selman knelt and bowed his head as FWC leader Pastor Sarah Omakwu laid hands on him and prayed for him.
“Pastor Sarah Omakwu blessed Apostle Joshua Selman today in church,” FWC announced via a social media post.
“She prayed that God would make him more fruitful, honour him and cause his ministry to reach the nooks and crannies of Nigeria and beyond,” the church said.
Commenters have joined the Facebook thread to express delight at Selman’s submission to a female cleric in a Nigerian society where many “men of God” believe and teach that women are lesser than men and should have no authority over them.
They said Selman’s humility would attract God’s blessings and prosper his ministry.
They pointed out that, in Christ Jesus, there is neither male nor female, only the “new creation”. So, they said, any Christian can lay hands on another Christian as they are all one in Christ.
Selman is a televangelist. He is the founder and senior pastor of the Eternity Network International (ENI), also called Koinonia, a Gospel fellowship in Samaru, Zaria, Kaduna State.
