Doctor reunites with veteran NTA journalist who interviewed him 20 years ago
Usha Anenga shared the following story on his Facebook wall on Tuesday.
“I was so excited to meet veteran NTA broadcaster, Mrs Comfort Ukwela earlier today.
“She didn’t recognise me but I did. How could I ever forget such an experience?
“Over 20 years ago, I was a guest on her show, ‘Tomorrow’s Leaders’ where primary school pupils were hosted to talk about topical issues in the society.
“I was a pupil of University of Agriculture Staff School, Makurdi (Benue State) and my topic was ‘Self-reliance in Agriculture’.
“I remember fondly how I told her I wanted to be a ‘petrochemical engineer’.
“I didn’t know what that meant but it sounded like the most complex career from the bogus name. I felt I could be anything I chose to be, no matter how difficult.
“God bless her.”
Anenga is now a medical doctor, his Facebook profile indicates. Ukwela, a commenter said, now works at the Federal University of Lafia in Nasarawa State.
“She is a very calm and collected woman she is,” the commenter said. “She is extremely intelligent and has a good command of English. God bless Aunty Comfort!”
