Bandits storm Niger village, abduct many — local chief
An unknown number of villagers have been kidnapped by heavily-armed bandits, former Kaduna senator Shehu Sani said.
Bandits have been terrorising Nigeria’s north. The fresh mass kidnapping took place in Niger state, Sani said a community source told him.
“A local traditional chief communicated to me that thirty minutes ago Bandits stormed Tegina village in Niger state,” Sani said in a tweet on Sunday.
“They came on motorbikes with heavy weapons and abducted many people and took them into the bush.
“Many of the inhabitants are now coming out from where they hide.”
