The vaccine mandate will, according to Sahara Reporters, apply to the thousands of 2021 Batch A corps members who are presently undergoing their orientation exercise across the 37 camps nationwide.
NYSC authorities met with the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 in Abuja for approval and would also meet with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, a department of the Federal Ministry of Health for the modalities.
NYSC Director-General, Brig Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim, according to Sahara Reporters, confirmed the plan.
NYSC already asked the latest batch of corps members to register for the COVID-19 test on its portal and bring the slips to camp for their scheduled tests.
On February 18, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) approved the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine for use in Nigeria.
