Lagos chief, 2 others killed as Zulum’s convoy crash on way from APC event
A delegation led by Governor Babagana Zulum has been involved in a car accident, reports from Borno say.
The crash, caused by a flat tire, took place while Zulum was on his way back to Maiduguri from Mafa on Tuesday, some members of the delegation reportedly said.
Zulum and the group were in Mafa to revalidate their membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), reports say.
At least three people have been confirmed dead, one of whom was the chief of Kanuri people in Lagos, Mai Masa Mohammed. His title was Mai Kanuribe and he was also the Sarkin Hausa of Ijora. The other two were the chief’s friend and driver.
Zulum was unhurt. The governor has survived two previous attacks by Boko Haram militants on his convoy.
