2023: Tinubu is the best person to succeed Buhari — senator

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain should take over Aso Rock when Muhammadu Buhari is done, Senator Dayo Adeyeye has said.

Adeyeye said there is not a single Nigerian alive that is more qualified than Tinubu to take over the mantle of leadership from the current president whose tenure runs out in 2023.

He made the comments when members of his South-West Agenda 23 visited the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, in Ogun State on Sunday.

“Tinubu is a good product that doesn’t need any advertisement and he has contributed greatly to the growth and development of the nation,” Adeyeye said.

“He is consummate democrat and progressive.

“We have three geo-political zones in the South, and all of them have the right to contest for the presidency.

“South-West is interested to contest for the presidency in 2023. The person who can help us win this ticket is Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

“He has done a lot for Nigerians irrespective of religion and tribe. He has built bridges across the country.

“We gathered together to start campaigning for him. If we can hold our house together, we will have the presidency back in the southwest.”

According to him, the group was earlier inaugurated in Oyo and Osun States while the inauguration of the Ogun State chapter is scheduled to hold on Tuesday.

The group paid a similar visit to the residence of a former Ogun governor Gbenga Daniel.

Oba Ajayi also said he supported the emergence of a president from the South-West come 2023.
