Port Harcourt: Explosion rocks Mile 3 market

An explosion has rocked a part of the popular Mile 3 Market located along the Ikwerre Road in Port Harcourt Area of Rivers state.

The incident occurred around 6:30am on Monday, within the Mile 3 motor park.

It was gathered that no life was lost in the explosion, but that it left many persons injured.

The explosion caused panic in the market as traders and commuters scampered for safety, a source told Vanguard.

State police spokesperson Nnamdi Omoni said the police were going to the area to ascertain what happened.

This comes barely three months after an inferno razed a part of the market.
