Lekki shooting: Lagos panel resumes after youth members end boycott

The Lagos State Panel of Judicial Inquiry into the allegations of police brutality had been unable to sit for a week owing to its failure to convene the required numbers of panellists.

The shortfall came after youth members boycotted the sitting over perceived government deception.

The boycott came after the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) blocked the bank accounts of panellist Oluwarinu Oduala and other EndSARS protesters on allegations of terrorism.

The panel resumes today after Oduala and Majekodunmi Temitope, the other youth representative, agreed to return to the table.

The panel led by retired Justice Doris Okuwobi is also investigating the October 20 Lekki Toll Plaza shooting.
