Fear of abduction: Kano closes 10 boarding schools

It was a precautionary decision to forestall harm

The Kano government, Friday, ordered the closure of 10 boarding schools in the state.

This was according to the state commissioner for education, Muhammad Kiru in an announcement a few hours ago.

He said the decision became necessary following the recent abduction of students from boarding schools in neighbouring states.

The closed schools are situated at Ajingi, Sumaila, Jogana, Kafin Maiyaki, Gaya, among other areas.
