Buhari’s Nigeria is on life support — Ortom

Under the Muhammadu Buhari government, Nigeria has become so sick it is on life support, Benue governor Samuel Ortom has said.

He spoke on Sunday at the 37th priestly anniversary thanksgiving mass in honour of Reverend Father Donatus Ugema and during a solidarity visit on him by members of the State Executive Council, traditional rulers and other stakeholders.

Ortom’s comments also came after Saturday’s attack on him during which he said he had to run over a kilometre to escape from Fulani herdsmen.

Ortom said the attack would strengthen his determination to execute divine agenda for Benue, stressing he needed prayers from the people.

He noted his emergence as governor was divine, stressing evil plans against him would always fail.

The governor, who acknowledged the quick response of Inspector-General of Police by deploying a crack team of detectives to investigate the attack on him, pointed out Fulani Nationality Movement (FUNAM) had already claimed responsibility for the attack.

He said the leaders and members of FUNAM should be arrested and questioned.
